Lorenzo Hall, is a 31-year-old former educator and author, born in Havelock, North Carolina.
At age fourteen was when his love of writing came to be. He was always fascinated by far off stories of adventure and wonder, of characters getting to see and do amazing things while making friends and learning about the world. It was what inspired him to become a writer and has been his calling for over half of his life. Having graduated from East Carolina University with a BA in English and another BA in Religious Studies, his appreciation for narratives, stories, and their impact upon peoples' lives only grew.
Lorenzo has spent most of his working career as an English educator for colleges and for high school students. His time working at schools educated him on not just how to better engage with his chosen profession, but also on other people from different walks of life. It allowed him to grow as a person and opened his mind to new experiences and ways of viewing the world than the one he had been presented with growing up.
After his time as an educator, he came to know others stories of life in some fashion or another, as well as play a role in theirs in his own small way. All the while, his own writing endeavors were going on, with him following his passion and trying to create tales that would resonate with others. He is an author of two original novels, "Desert Rain" and "Dragon's Domain" as well as a published comic writer, having worked on Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles for IDW Publishing.
Inspired by a creative writing class in his early teens, Lorenzo soon dedicated himself to reading more and replicating stories that stirred his heart and imagination. It took time to gradually find his own voice, learning to innovate and ask himself why certain stories fascinated him and bringing his own taste and influences out to new stories.
Eventually he learned more about English and Creative Writing at East Carolina University and through collaboration with others who were working both in creative industries or on passion projects. This allowed Lorenzo to refine his skills while also keeping in touch with human drives that make true art worth appreciating in all its forms.
Focusing on strong character work, dynamic action, and making narratives that carry strong emotion and tension, Lorenzo's work balances flash and substance.
While brief, but bombastic moments are seen in his fantasy and sci-fi work, when Lorenzo writes he always tries to capture the essence of characters to bring out humanity and emotion seen in the world, whether it's for novels or sequential art narratives.
